How To Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in A Room to Heal.  We are proud of the work we do and are pleased that you want to be part of our important efforts.
There are several ways that you or your organization/ business can help us provide healing spaces to children battling serious illness:

---Sign up to be emailed when we need a volunteer for a particular
room project or task (see instructions below).
---Provide skilled services in such areas as carpentry, sewing,
painting, or design.
---Purchase supplies or furnishings to support a room project.
---Assist with administrative tasks.
---Participate in an event to raise funds and spread the word about our organization.

TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER FOR A ROOM PROJECT OR SPECIFIC TASK :   To make it easier to keep track of volunteer opportunities, we have created an online community of volunteers through a program called Lotsa Helping Hands (LHH).  Please take a few minutes to visit the site and join our community.  Once you register, you’ll be able to view a schedule of volunteer needs for one of the current projects, sign up to participate, and be notified when additional activities are posted.

Follow these simple steps to register on the Lotsa Helping Hands site:
1.    Click on the following link http://www.lotsahelpinghands.com/c/607485/

2.    Follow the instructions for interested in becoming a member on the right hand side.

3.    Please enter your specific interests, skills, talents in the box labeled notes to coordinator.

4.    Click send email

5.    You will receive an email with subject: [LHH] Your Pending Membership: Room to Heal Volunteers to confirm your request.

6.    Once you have been approved, you will receive another email with subject: [LHH] Welcome to Room to Heal Volunteers.  Click the link to create a new password and click submit.

7.    Click Sign-in now.   Read terms of use and click I agree to proceed.  You should now see our Welcome! Page where you can learn more about how to use the LHH web site.

A note about volunteering for A Room to Heal – our projects often involve working with a child and family members who are in a stressful situation.  We need to be sensitive to the family’s needs and limit the number of people who are in the house.  Many of our volunteers work behind the scenes, staffing information tables, running fundraisers, and making phone calls.  We appreciate the efforts of ALL these people who contribute to our success.
